We executive produced, wrote and staged the Gala Opening Celebration of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s new home, Walt Disney Concert Hall, featuring Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen and soloists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma to Audra MacDonald, and presenters such as Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

 

We also created the post-opening concert light and fireworks show (a photo of which was included among the Los Angeles Times’ five most important images of the year 2003) as well as creating and producing the accompanying Emmy-nominated PBS Great Performances television special.

 

The Los Angeles Times described the Disney Hall Opening Celebration as “…venturesome and inventive… an agreeable mix of spectacle, sentiment and sly humor on a program that could teach the entertainment industry a thing or two about entertainment.”​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
